Saturday, September 21

  • 5:30pm - Worship
  • 2:00pm-10:00pm - Rhythm on the River at Roosevelt Park - In lieu of the 3rd Saturday Night Game Night in September, check out Rhythm on the River at Roosevelt Park - Sept 21st anytime from 2 -10pm. This FREE event will include a ropes course, roller rink, axe throwing, and music by Banshee Tree. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. This is a great opportunity to join in a fun community event with fellow First Lutheran folks.   • COUNCIL HOST- Trey Turner and Andrew Howell
  • 10:45am - Volunteer Appreciation Sunday – Today we celebrate all the volunteers that offer their time and talents week after week supporting our church community. Please join us for a Volunteer Appreciation Brunch in the Big Room after the 9:30am service.
  • 10:45am - Sunday School Hour - Please come celebrate our volunteers at the Volunteer Appreciation Brunch during Fellowship Hour this month. Children & Youth Sunday School is cancelled today. Adult Sunday School will start at 11:15am after brunch.
    • K-5 Sunday School in Room 5 (The Old Fellowship Hall downstairs)
    • Middle and High School FLY -  Any youth in grades 6-12 are invited to the FLY Room, each Sunday for faith-filled discussions about what is going on in their lives!

Wednesday, September 25

  • 5:00pm-8:00pm - TOC - Touch of Craft  in Room 6. Jenn will be giving a Temple Talk at both services this weekend to let the congregation know about TOC's Greeting Card Ministry and how everyone can participate. Look for the yellow box in the Narthex!

Thursday, September 26

  • 10:30am - Adult Bible Study - Time to begin. What time? In the beginning. This year’s Thursday morning Bible Study class will center our attention on the Book of Genesis. Leaders will be Pastor Sally Ponfick and Pastor Garrett Struessel. Lessons will be related to Charles and Ann Hummel’s small workbook called genesis: God’s Creative Call.  Want one? Maria Sutton can get you one for $10 or free if $10 is too much.
  • 7:00pm-8:30pm – Chancel Choir Rehearsal  in the Choir loft. 

Saturday, September 28

  • 9:00am-4:00pm - Healthy Congregations Workshop  - First Lutheran is hosting a workshop which is open to the public and intended for all people of faith, in every denomination. Healthy Congregations is a workshop and education event led by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. Please see the insert for a discount code for First Lutheran Members and attendees!   • 11:00am-2:00pm - Mission Conversations  - Everyone is invited to this day of Mission-minded “Celebration and Visioning Together” conversation led by Reverand Jay Wittmeyer of the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. This event is dedicated for First Lutheran members and friends, there is no registration cost, and lunch will be provided. Join your Council leaders and congregation friends to listen and be heard. To pray together and ask God where we are being led.
