First Lutheran has a strong commitment to providing educational opportunities for all ages. Confirmation is just one part of that time-honored tradition.

Our confirmation classes currently are designed around a small group model for students currently in 6th-8th grade, with confirmation in the fall of the 9th grade year.

The primary focuses of our confirmation program are: strengthening knowledge, creating meaningful relationships, and providing safe spaces to ask questions and deepen faith. Another important portion of our philosophy of Confirmation at FELC is the service component.

ConfirmU (Confirmation University)

ConfirmU is a course-based curriculum, based around 10-15 minute TED Talk style videos. Throughout the confirmation year (September – April), each small group will have to complete 5 courses. 3 of them, required and 2 of them, electives. The small groups will have the opportunity to decide which course they will take in what order, and then will meet online or in person to discuss what they are learning.
