The Memorial Committee helps us remember loved ones who have passed from their earthly lives to their heavenly home. At times of loss, we encourage you to suggest that contributions be made to the First Lutheran Memorial Fund as a meaningful way to leave a living memorial to the church.

The Memorial Committee provides assistance to bereaved families by keeping track of donations given in memory of their loved ones and sending acknowledgement cards to the contributors. Guidance may also be provided for the designations of these funds, so that they support the mission of the church and enhance the worship experience.

All Saints Day is an important time for the Memorial Committee’s support of bereaved families. The Committee hosts a gathering for families of those who have passed away since the last All Saints Day. The gathering offers families time to share photos of their loved ones in the sanctuary during worship followed by time to be together and share remembrances, while enjoying light refreshments.

“The time of remembrance hosted by the Memorial Committee after my husband passed away was cathartic. All of us who gathered were deeply touched by sharing our memories and listening to each other.”  –Milenda Powers
