Seasoned Saints

Meeting times and location: 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. @ FELC in the Fireside Room

Seniors of all ages (not high school), church member or not, we welcome you with open arms, whether just visiting or regularly attending.  Bring friends! 

Inspired by the Lutheran faith, this group was resurrected following the pandemic. Much interest was shown in regrouping and new attendees showed up. We introduced ourselves, and we all contributed our ideas of what we wanted our group to look like. Suggestions for our group name were offered, voted on, and we named ourselves the Seasoned Saints.  

Coming together in the Church offers opportunities for older adults to socialize, support each other, for friends to show compassion, respect and caring, and to tell their stories. The value of convening and community service are emphasized by welcoming each other in the grace of Christ.

The number of participants varies from 10-15. The dates and topics of the gatherings are announced in the print and online Weekend Reminder. Coffee, hot water and various snacks are provided as participants take turns. No need to R.S.V.P. Never are dues or offerings collected.

Past meetings and discussions have included learning about Medicare, Habitat for Humanity of S.V.V., Reentry Initiative, OUR Center with a visit to the Parish House, Improving Balance and Strength, Estate Planning, and making pretzels, learning their representation of the Holy Trinity.
